Ideal Truck Accessories: offline for two weeks, then a rebuild

I got a Terrell truck accessory shop back online, then built the full site around its work truck and towing business.

The problem

Ideal Truck Accessories has been in business in Terrell since 1994. Dustin Cox bought the shop about a year ago.

When he called me, the website had been dark for two weeks. A hosting plan had lapsed and nobody was watching it. Nobody noticed until a customer mentioned it.

The immediate problem wasn't the design. The shop needed a working website.

The first fix

I got a one-page Starter Site live fast. Enough to look legitimate, show the work and take a call.

That gave the shop something customers could use while I built the full site behind it. He didn't have to stay offline until every product page was ready. See that original page.

What I built

  • 16 pages. Home, about, contact, quote, fleet outfitting and 11 product category pages.
  • The shop's work. Bumpers, tonneau covers, tool boxes, trailer hitches, gooseneck and fifth wheel hitches, running boards and nerf bars, spray-in bed liners, air bags and leveling kits, grill guards and winches, transfer fuel tanks and interior trim.
  • Installed prices. Product pages show parts and labor as one number.
  • A specific position. The work truck and towing outfitter for Kaufman County. Not a lift-and-wheels off-road shop.
  • Direct quote requests. The form goes straight to Dustin's inbox. It asks for name, phone and email so he always has a way to reply.
  • Owner control. I moved the site onto hosting and a domain he controls outright, so the same lapse can't take him down again.
  • Visible traffic. A private dashboard on his own site shows visits.

What the research actually found

I checked competitors across the accessory keywords that matter in his area. Most of his search position was fine.

The gap was narrower than either of us assumed: one product category where a nearby competitor genuinely outranks him.

Ideal Truck is a destination business. People drive there on purpose. My Google Maps service isn't built for that, and I told him so. Website work is open to anybody. That doesn't make every other service a fit.

What it cost him to start

The Starter Site build fee was $295. When the full site was ready, that fee came off the full-site price.

The first step counted toward the finished build. It wasn't a separate website purchase he had to leave behind.

In his words

“I had a customer call and let me know my website was not working. I reached out to Walter, and within 10 minutes he told me it had been down for two weeks, and he was able to get a stationary website up same day… Then in a matter of a couple days, he had a brand new website built and designed, and sending web leads that I was never getting before on my old website. Been a great experience altogether.”

Results so far

The full site launched in late September 2026. In the nine days from October 11 to 18, Google Search sent it 21 clicks, with “truck accessories near me” already on the first page. I'll add fuller results once there's enough data to be meaningful.
